Making Discover Your Default Card
The best way to make sure you don't miss out on the extra rewards is to make Discover your default card in
Here's how to do it:
- Go to Settings on your device
- Select Wallet & Apple Pay
- Tap Default card
- Choose your Discover card
How to Use Apple Pay
1. Look
If these symbols are at checkout then you've got the green light to use Apple Pay.


2. Touch
To pay within stores, hold iPhone® near the contactless reader with your finger on Touch IDTM. On Apple WatchTM, just double-click the side button and hold the display of your Apple Watch up to the contactless reader.1
3. Pay
A subtle vibration and beep lets you know that your payment information was sent.

Add your card to Apple Pay in three simple steps.
iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, and iPhone SE
- Open the Wallet app
- Tap the plus sign in the upper right corner
- Enter your card's security code to add your credit or debit card from your iTunes account. Or, select "Add a different card" and use your iSight camera to enter the card information.1
Apple Watch
- Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone
- Tap "Wallet & Apple Pay" and select "Add a Credit or Debit Card"
- Enter your card's security code to add your credit or debit card from your iTunes account. Or, select "Add a different card" and use your iSight camera to enter the card information.1
- Discover.com: Log into your account. Then under "Account," select "Manage Cards," and then select "Activate/Deactivate" for Apple Pay devices.
- Discover mobile app: Log into the app and select "Activate and Manage Cards." Then, select the Apple Pay device temporarily deactivate or remove the card from.
- Wallet/Apple Pay: Select "Remove Card" in the "Wallet & Apple Pay" section of your device Settings.
Please use the "Contact Us" feature by selecting the information icon (i) in Apple Pay to reach Discover immediately from the mobile app or website.
If your mobile device is lost:You can temporarily deactivate Apple Pay by using the "Find my iPhone" app or you can visit www.icloud.com and select "Lost Mode." Alternatively, you can call us by using the "Contact Discover" feature in Wallet and we will assist you in temporarily deactivating your card in Apple Pay.
If your mobile device is stolen:You can select the "Erase All" option on www.icloud.com to delete your cards from Apple Pay. Please note that when you select this option, all of the information on your phone will be erased. You can restore the information on your device using iCloud Backup (if backup was turned on before you erased it). Restoring the information on your phone will not restore your card information in Apple Pay. You will need to add your card into Wallet again to resume using your card in Apple Pay.
If you don't know your device account number, please use the "Contact Discover" feature in Wallet and we will assist you.
Option # 1: You can view and manage your Discover cards in Apple Pay by going to "Settings" and selecting "Wallet & Apple Pay" on your supported iPhone. You can tap on an individual card to manage the settings linked to that card and view your most recent transaction history.
Option # 2: You can also view and manage your cards in the Wallet app. When you select an individual card, you can tap the information icon (i) to then to manage the settings linked to that card and view your most recent transaction history.

Private Payments
Apple Pay doesn't store the details of your transactions so they can't be tied back to you. Only your most recent purchases are kept in Wallet for your convenience.
Device Account Number
With Apple Pay, instead of using your actual credit card number, a unique Device Account Number is assigned to each device and used to process your purchases.
- Your full plastic card number is not shared with the merchant.
- Your transactions are monitored by Discover risk and fraud detection systems.
