By consenting to receive text messages, you agree to receive text messages at any telephone number you provide to us or will provide to us in connection with any account you have or will have with us, including any credit card, debit card, line of credit, student loan or deposit account and you consent to receive text messages on the mobile devices associated all with such telephone numbers even if your telephone numbers are on any Do Not Call (or similar) list so it will not be considered unauthorized by any local, state or federal law or regulation. For any telephone numbers that you provide, you consent to our use of any automatic telephone dialing system when contacting you, even if you are charged for the text messages under your telephone plan.
It is your responsibility to determine if your mobile service provider supports text messaging and if your mobile device is capable of receiving text messages. Not all pre-paid phones are supported. Our text messages are subject to the terms and conditions of your agreement(s) with your mobile device carrier, including any standard messaging rates or other carrier charges that may apply. You are responsible for any fees imposed by your mobile device carrier of any kind whatsoever. Discover may discontinue any text messages at any time without prior notice to you, subject to applicable law.
You acknowledge that our text messages are sent to you without being encrypted and may include information about an application or your account. Discover will never include your full account number, password, or other sensitive information in a text message. Discover helps to protect your account information. We make every effort to ensure that this service is provided without interruption, but we reserve the right, in our sole discretion, without any obligation and without any notice requirement, to change, improve or correct text messages and to suspend text messages for scheduled or unscheduled maintenance, upgrades, improvements or corrections. Discover cannot and does not guarantee continuous, uninterrupted or secure text message services. Discover cannot guarantee that text messaging services provided through your wireless carrier will be delivered, and we will not be liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
The number of texts you receive per month will depend on your settings and account activity. The text messages that we provide are being delivered as a convenience to you for information or marketing purposes. A text message does not constitute a record for the account to which it pertains. The information in the text messages is provided on an "AS IS," and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. Discover will not be responsible for any loss or damage that could result from interception by third parties of any information made available to you via our text messages. Discover cannot and does not guarantee the accuracy, validity, timeliness or completeness of any information or data made available to you for any particular purpose. Neither Discover, nor any of its affiliates, directors, officers or employees, nor any third party vendor, will be liable or have any responsibility of any kind for any loss or damage that you incur in the event of any failure or interruption of our text messages, or resulting from the act or omission of any other party involved in providing text messages, or from any other cause relating to your access to, inability to access, or use of the text messages, whether or not the circumstances giving rise to such cause may have been within the control of Discover or of any vendor providing software or services. In no event will Discover or any such parties be liable to you, whether in contract or tort, for any direct, special, indirect, consequential or incidental damages or any other damages of any kind even if Discover or any other such party has been advised of the possibility thereof. This limitation on liability includes, but is not limited to, the transmission of any viruses which may infect a user's equipment, failure of mechanical or electronic equipment or communication lines, telephone or other interconnect problems unauthorized access, theft, operator errors, strikes or other labor problems or any force majeure.

The Discover Student Loans Application Alert program ("Program") allows students and cosigners to sign up for text reminders regarding the status of their application(s) in process.

By providing your phone number, we may provide you with special account notifications such as payment reminders or fraud alerts. To enroll in additional text messages you may update your account preferences on the Manage Alerts page in your Discover mobile app or online at Discover.com
If you would like to stop receiving text communications, text STOP from your mobile device to 347268 (DISCOV). Text HELP for more information or call 1-800-DISCOVER. You may also return to the Manage Alerts page in your Discover mobile app or online at Discover.com to update your selections accordingly.

After you have entered your mobile number on an application, you will receive application status text alerts from 347268. You will receive approximately 3 alerts per application depending on account activity.

You must have text messaging enabled with your mobile carrier. You should check with your mobile carrier to verify that you can receive text messages on your mobile phone.
How do I sign up to receive text messages?
For Discover Card, you may select which text messages that you would like to receive from the My Profile page within Discover.com. Click to register or login to choose which text message that you want to receive. You will receive a text message notifying you of your choices. You must reply to the text message to confirm your enrollment. We may also provide you with account notifications such as payment reminders or if we detect potential fraud on your account.
For Discover Student Loans, reply YES to 41706 to confirm enrollment after receiving your first text.
What text messages can I choose to receive from Discover?
We may send you special account notifications such as fraud alerts or payment reminders. Depending on which product you have, you can also elect to receive different types of communications from Discover via text message.

Can I contact Discover by using text messages?
Discover does not provide two-way communications with its customers through text messaging, except for specific types of requests. For example, you can send via text message the request to STOP receiving text messages from Discover.
How much does it cost to receive / send text messages?
Discover provides text services at no additional charge to you, but you should contact your mobile phone service provider to find out about any fees that may apply.
For Fraud Messages, you will not be charged any fees.
Are text messages secure?
Text messages are not encrypted, so Discover will never include your full account number, password, or other sensitive information in a text message. Text messages may include some account information, such as your account balance or payment due date.
