Once you log in to your Discover card account, navigate to the Manage Alerts page to view and configure your alerts in four categories:
Manage Your Account with Email and Text Alerts
Turn on or off email and text alerts that prompt you when your statement is available. You can also choose to receive an alert when your minimum payment is due, your payment is posted, your card is declined, a merchant refund is posted or a balance transfer is posted.
Protect Your Account
Enable or disable email and text alerts related to cash advances, purchases made outside of the U.S., and purchases made online, by phone or by mail. And while you are automatically enrolled in e-mail alerts for fraud and account updates, you can enable text alerts for these events as well.
Track Your Spending
Choose to be alerted by email or text when a transaction exceeds a predetermined amount, or when your balance reaches a predetermined level. You can also configure email or text alerts for when your balance approaches your credit limit, within a level of your choosing.
Manage Rewards & Offers
Allows you to configure e-mail alerts to inform you when one of your saved Discover Deals is expiring soon.
Important Things to Know About Your Alerts
You can stop text alerts by changing your preferences on your Discover account online, but you can also stop text communications by sending a text message from your mobile device with the word ‘STOP,’ to 347268 (DISCOV). In addition, you can text some supported commands to 347268 (DISCOV), such as MENU, to see a menu of available options, BAL, to check your current balance, and DUE to see your statement balance, balance due and current due date.
And while Discover provides these email and text services at no additional charge, bear in mind that you may be responsible for message and data charges from your mobile phone provider. Finally, be sure to put email@example.com into your email address book to ensure that Discover’s messages aren’t funneled to your spam box.
