Can I report that my card has been lost or stolen online?

Note: You must already have current access to to report your card lost or stolen online. If you do not have an online account or have not logged in for 30 days, please contact call Customer Service at 1-800-DISCOVER (1-800-347-2683).

I think I may have misplaced my Discover Card. What should I do while I look for it?

Please log in to freeze your account activity if you think you have misplaced your card.

I thought I just misplaced my card but it turns out it is actually lost. What should I do?

Please log in to freeze your account and request a replacement card if you believe you have lost your card. You should receive your replacement card within 3-7 business days. If you have not received your replacement card within this time, please contact Customer Service.

My Discover Card was stolen, and I am afraid that someone could gain access to my card. What should I do?

Please log in to report your card stolen and begin an account transfer to close your account as well as deactivate and destroy all associated cards. You will then be issued a new card or cards with a new account number.

How long will it take to process my request after I have reported a card lost or stolen?

Please allow up to 48 hours for us to process your account transfer.

How quickly will my card be replaced?

Your new card(s) will arrive within 4-6 business days.

I pay some of my bills automatically with my Discover Card. How do I make sure my bills get paid once I have a new account number?

For any bills you automatically pay with your Discover card and/or sites where you have stored your card number for purchases, please contact those merchants to update your account information.

Is there a cost to replace my cards?

There is no fee to replace a card.

Will my rewards be transferred to my new Discover Card account?

Your rewards are automatically transferred to your new account. Please keep in mind, you may not redeem your rewards until your new card is completely set-up.  This takes approximately 24-48 hours. You can redeem your rewards again once your new account number is established.

If I find fraudulent charges on my account, will Discover reimburse me?

Discover has a $0 Fraud Liability Guarantee so you're never responsible for unauthorized charges on your Discover Card account.

How do I close my Discover Card account?

You can close your Discover Card account by calling 1-800-DISCOVER (1-800-347-2683).
