Here's how it works

Using a starting Account balance of $5,000 on 4/2/2024 as an example, take these steps to qualify for the $200 bonus:

  • Deposit New Funds by 4/26/2024

    Add $25,000 in New Funds from an external source directly to your Account by 4/26/2024 11:59 PM for a total Hold Amount of $30,000. You can make one or more deposits between 4/4/2024 and 4/26/2024. Internal transfers are ineligible. Please allow for deposit processing times and hold times as it may result in not meeting the offer end date on 4/26/2024.

  • Maintain a minimum of your Hold Amount between 4/26/2024 to 6/25/2024

    Keep your Account balance at or above the Hold Amount of $30,000 until the end of the Hold Period on 6/25/2024 11:59 PM ET. You can make additional deposits or withdrawals provided the Hold Amount remains at $30,000 between 4/26/2024 and 6/25/2024. Deposits made during the Hold Period do not contribute to your total Hold Amount.

     

    Important: If the minimum Hold Amount drops below $30,000 between 4/26/2024 and 6/25/2024 you will either qualify for the $100 bonus or be ineligible.

  • Enjoy your Bonus

    If your Hold Amount is still $30,000 on 6/25/2024, your $200 bonus will be automatically credited to your account by 7/25/2024.

Savings Boost Bonus FAQ

To qualify for the Savings Boost Bonus, you must meet all of the following requirements:

Deposit New Funds by 4/26/2024 (Offer End Date)

  • Deposit $15,000 in New Funds (i.e., not currently on deposit at Discover) to earn $100 Bonus OR $25,000 in New Funds to earn $200 Bonus between 4/4/2024 and 4/26/2024 11:59 PM ET (Funding Period).
  • New Funds must be deposited from an external source and not transferred between Discover Bank accounts. Internal transfers between Discover accounts do not qualify.
  • Funds must be deposited directly to the selected Account mentioned in the promotional email by 4/26/2024.
  • Please allow for deposit processing and hold times as it may result in not meeting the offer end date on 4/26/2024.

Maintain your Hold Amount between 4/26/2024 to 6/25/2024 (Hold Period)

  • The Hold Amount is your Account  balance as of 4/2/2024 11:59 PM ET, plus the required deposit amount of $15,000 or $25,000 (Hold Amount).
  • To qualify for a bonus, you must maintain a minimum of your total Hold Amount from 4/26/2024 11:59 PM ET to 6/25/2024 11:59 PM ET (Hold Period).
  • You can continue to add funds to your Account during the Hold Period. However, funds added after the offer ends on 4/26/24 do not qualify.
  • If your Account drops below the minimum Hold Amount during the Hold Period, you will either qualify for a lower bonus or be ineligible to receive a bonus.
  • Keep the Account open. Account must be open when bonus is credited. Bonus to be credited to the Account by 7/25/2024.

Important: Customers with an existing Online Savings Account were selected at random to receive the offer. Only one account per customer is eligible. The offer is non-transferable. No promotion code or enrollment is needed.

"New Funds" means money that is not currently on deposit at Discover and is deposited directly to the selected Online Savings Account. Deposits must be made from an external source (i.e., a non-Discover account) between 4/4/2024 and 4/26/2024 ("Funding Period"). Examples of acceptable deposit methods include transfers via ACH, wire transfer, and/or checks from another bank. Deposits made via internal transfer from a Discover account are not eligible.

  • No. Internal transfers between Discover accounts are ineligible. (New or existing funds transferred between Discover accounts do not qualify.)
  • For example: Funds deposited to your Discover Checking Account then transferred to your Discover Online Savings Account do not qualify for the Savings Boost Bonus.
  • To qualify for a Savings Boost Bonus, deposit directly to the selected Account, mentioned in the promotion email, a Required Deposit Amount (RDA) of $15,000 in New Funds (i.e., not currently on deposit at Discover) to earn $100 Bonus OR $25,000 in New Funds to earn $200 Bonus between 4/4/2024 and 4/26/2024 11:59 PM ET (Funding Period). 
  • You can make multiple deposits to the selected Account during the Funding Period to qualify.
  • Note: We don’t assess a service charge for receiving domestic wire transfers or international wire transfers in U.S. dollars. Your other bank may charge you.

No. You must deposit either $15,000 or $25,000 in New Funds directly to the selected Account from an external source by 4/26/2024 11:59 PM ET to be eligible (i.e., the deposit has cleared, and funds are in the Account). Please be mindful of and allow for deposit processing and hold times as it may result in not meeting the Required Deposit Amount before the offer end date (4/26/2024).

  • No. You do not need to use the links in the promotional email or on this page to deposit funds.
  • No promotion code or enrollment is required.
  • You can deposit funds into the selected Online Savings Account using any of the deposit methods offered by Discover, except internal transfers between Discover accounts. 

  • Customers with an existing Online Savings Account were selected at random to receive the offer via email.

  • Yes. You can continue to make transactions during the Hold Period between 4/26/2024 and 6/25/2024, but you must not drop below the minimum Hold Amount.
  • ​The Hold Amount is your Account balance as of 4/2/2024 11:59 PM ET, plus the Required Deposit Amount of $15,000 or $25,000 (Hold Amount).

If you drop below the minimum Hold Amount you will either qualify for a lower bonus or be ineligible to receive a bonus.

  • Total deposits of $25,000 or more in New Funds will qualify for a $200 bonus.
  • Deposits between $15,000 and $24,999.99 in New Funds qualify for a $100 bonus.
  • Deposits of $14,999.99 or less will not qualify for a bonus.

Remember: If your Account balance falls below the minimum Hold Amount before the end of the Hold Period on 6/25/2024 11:59 PM ET, you will either qualify for a lower bonus or be ineligible to receive a bonus. To qualify, maintain your Hold Amount (Account balance as of 4/2/2024, plus the Required Deposit Amount) between 4/26/2024 11:59 PM ET and 6/25/2024 11:59 PM ET. 

Please see the example above and the Savings Boost Bonus promotion email for further details on your required Hold Amount. Any funds added over the Hold Amount are excluded from Hold Period requirements.

If you’ve met the Required Deposit Amount ($15,000 or $25,000) and fulfilled the Hold Amount and Hold Period requirements, we’ll send you an email confirming that you’ve qualified.

If you’ve met the offer terms and conditions, the bonus will be credited to your Account on or before 07/25/2024.
