  • Is Discover's Extended Product Warranty benefit still available to Discover cardmembers?

    Discover's Extended Product Warranty benefit was discontinued effective February 28, 2018. Purchases made prior to February 28, 2018 will be eligible for coverage under the original terms of the benefit.

  • What is Extended Product Warranty?

    As an exclusive feature of your Discover card, we will extend the terms of an existing eligible warranty for up to 1 additional year on warranties of 36 months or less.

  • Is there a fee for the Extended Product Warranty benefit?

    No. For purchases made after August 1st, 2016, coverage applies if the eligible purchase was made with one of the following payment methods, either the entire purchase was made on the Discover card (and/or accrued Cashback Bonus or Miles), or the purchase was made on the Discover card along with either cash, store-issued gift card or credit, or non-card network branded gift card. Coverage does not apply if any credit or debit card other than Discover card is used for any portion of the payment. For purchases made prior to August 1st, 2016, coverage applies only if the entire purchase was made on the Discover card (and/or accrued Cashback Bonus or Miles).

  • Can I file an Extended Product Warranty claim if my purchase is still under the original manufacturer's warranty?

    No. This insurance will extend the terms of the original U.S. Manufacturer's Warranty, or the Warranty provided by the re-manufacturer, or a Purchased Warranty up to one additional year on warranties of 36 months or less.

  • How do I start the claims process?
