  • What is Samsung Pay?

    Samsung Pay is a payment app that allows you to add your card to your supported Samsung device in order to make transactions easier.

  • How do I pay with my Discover card when I use Samsung Pay?

    The last card used or viewed is the card defaulted for payment. By scrolling left and right through your payment cards in Samsung Pay, you can select the card you want to use for payment.

  • What is Samsung Simple Pay, and how does it make it easier to make purchases with my Discover Card?

    Simple Pay is a quick and easy way to access your Discover Card without opening up the Samsung Pay application. You can open Simple Pay from the Home screen, Apps menu, or lock screen, by swiping up from the bottom of the screen (even if the display is dark or off). You can also choose which cards are displayed in Simple Pay.

    You can use these Discover cards with Samsung Pay:

  • Where can I use Samsung Pay?

    Samsung Pay can be used almost anywhere you can use a credit card to make purchases, or wherever contactless payments are accepted. Plastic cards may need to be used where contactless payments are not accepted (e.g gas station pumps). For more information on where you can pay with Samsung Pay, visit Samsung.com/Samsungpay.

  • What do I need to use Samsung Pay?

    Samsung Pay is available with the Galaxy S6, S6 active, S6 edge, S6 edge+ and Note5 through an app update. The availability will vary by mobile network operator. The app is not available for download on unsupported devices.

  • Can I still earn Cashback Bonus or rewards when using Samsung Pay?

    You will continue to earn eligible Cashback Bonus or Miles on every purchase using your Discover card with Samsung Pay. To view your individual card benefits, simply log into your Discover account or the Discover Mobile App.

  • How do I set up Samsung Pay and add my Discover card?

    To add your Discover card:

    • Open Samsung Pay
    • Select ADD or, if this is the first payment card being added, touch "Add a credit or debit card."
    • Align your Discover card inside the frame to automatically detect the card number and expiration date or enter your card credentials manually.
    • Sign your Discover card and touch "Save."
    • Touch "Done" to complete the process.
  • How do I use Samsung Pay?

    To pay with Samsung Pay in-store:

    • Open the Samsung Pay app from your home screen.
    • Select the card you want to pay with.
    • Verify the purchase using your fingerprint and hover over the card reader to pay.
  • Can Samsung Pay make online or in-app purchases?

    Not yet. Currently, Samsung Pay can be used for in-store payments.

  • Does it cost anything to use Samsung Pay?

    There is no cost to you for using your Discover card in Samsung Pay. However, your Discover card’s terms and conditions will apply to purchases. Also, additional message and data charges may apply depending on your wireless plan.

  • How will I know if a transaction was successful when paying with Samsung Pay?

    For in-store purchases you will see a confirmation screen in addition to a transaction notification on your device. You can always view your Samsung Pay transactions in the Samsung Pay app.

  • How do I make a return for an item I purchased with Samsung Pay?

    The return policy will vary by merchant. You can return items purchased using your Card with Samsung Pay by:

    • Providing the merchant with the last four digits of your digital card number instead of your physical Card account number. The last four digits of your digital card number for your Card are listed to the left of the Card in the Samsung Pay app.
    • Or, by using the same Card with Samsung Pay you used to make the purchase to complete the return at the merchant’s card or contactless reader.

    Please remember to keep the original receipt you received from the merchant at the time of purchase as the transaction details listed in Samsung Pay are not an official receipt.

  • What do I do if I'm having trouble adding my Discover card to Samsung Pay?

    You may not have the eligible device and/or eligible card. If you need additional support, please contact us at 1-800-405-0985.

  • Am I liable for unauthorized charges made with my Discover card using Samsung Pay?

    You are never responsible for unauthorized purchases on your Discover card.

  • What should I do if my card info changes?

    Your digital card number is connected to your new Card number automatically. You can use your card in Samsung Pay before receiving your new physical card to make purchases, should your card info change or you receive a replacement.

  • My smartphone with my Discover card saved in the Samsung Pay app was lost or stolen. What can I do to protect my Discover card account information?

    If you believe your phone has been lost, stolen or compromised in any way, call Discover at 1-800-347-2683.


    You can also go to Samsung's "Find My Mobile" to help you find, lock and erase your phone.

  • If I choose to freeze my credit card account, what effect does it have on my card in Samsung Pay?

    If you freeze your credit card account you will be unable to use your card, including within Samsung Pay, until you unfreeze your account. When you freeze your account, Discover will not authorize new purchases, cash advances or balance transfers. However, some activity will continue, including bills that merchants mark as recurring, as well as returns, credits, dispute adjustments, payments, Discover protection product fees, other account fees, interest, rewards redemptions and certain other exempted transactions.

  • If my plastic card is lost or stolen, what effect does it have on my card in Samsung Pay?

    After you report your card as lost/stolen, it will be unavailable in Samsung Pay for 24 to 48 hours while a new account number is created and updated in Samsung Pay. No further action is required on your part to continue to use your card in Samsung Pay.
