Roger C. Hochschild

Director, Chief Executive Officer and President

Roger C. Hochschild was named chief executive officer and president, effective October 2018, and was elected to the Discover board of directors in August 2018. Roger was president and chief operating officer of Discover from 2004 to 2018. He was executive vice president, chief administrative and strategic officer for Morgan Stanley from 2001 to 2004, and was executive vice president, chief marketing officer - Discover from 1998 to 2001, when Discover was a part of Morgan Stanley. Roger holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Georgetown University and an M.B.A. from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College.

John T. Greene

Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer

John T. Greene joined Discover in September 2019 as executive vice president, chief financial officer. Prior to joining Discover, John served as executive vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer at Bioverativ, a global biopharmaceutical company. From 2014 to 2016, he was chief financial officer for Willis Group Holdings, which was preceded by more than eight years at HSBC Holdings where he held CFO positions for several divisions, including retail bank and wealth management; insurance and consumer and mortgage lending. He also held various CFO roles in his 12-year tenure with General Electric from 1993 to 2005. John holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the State University of New York and a master’s degree in Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Amir Arooni

Executive Vice President, Chief Information Officer

Amir Arooni joined Discover in March 2020 as executive vice president, chief information officer. Prior to joining Discover he served as CIO for NN Group in the Netherlands, a spin-off of ING. From 2001-2015, he held various executive roles across ING. Amir holds a Master of Science degree in Positive Leadership and Strategy from IE University in Madrid, Spain; a Master of Science degree in Consulting and Coaching for Change from HEC School of Management, Paris and Oxford University, England; and an MBA from Erasmus University Rotterdam, the Netherlands and the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

Dan Capozzi

Executive Vice President, President – US Cards

Dan Capozzi was named executive vice president, president - US Cards in December 2020. He has served on the executive committee since June 2017 and led credit operations and decision management from 2018 to 2020. Since joining Discover in 2007, Dan has held leadership positions in the deposits business and corporate finance. Prior to joining Discover, Dan held various leadership positions in finance at Citi and Bank of America. Dan holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Northeastern University.

Andy Eichfeld

Executive Vice President, Chief Human Resources and Administrative Officer

Andy Eichfeld joined Discover in September 2018 as executive vice president, chief human resources and administrative officer. Prior to joining Discover, Andy was an independent advisor from 2017 to 2018, and held various positions at McKinsey & Company from 1995 to 2017, where he was elected a senior partner in 2009. Andy holds a bachelor’s degree in government from Oberlin College, as well as a master's degree in Middle Eastern studies and an MBA in marketing, both from the University of Chicago.

Hope Mehlman

Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer, General Counsel and Secretary

Hope Mehlman joined Discover in January 2023 and is the chief legal officer, general counsel and secretary. Prior to joining Discover, Hope was executive vice president, general counsel, and corporate secretary of Bank of the West and corporate secretary of BNP Paribas USA, Inc. Hope holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell University, a Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University Law School and a Master of Laws in Taxation from New York University School of Law.

Carlos Minetti

Executive Vice President, President - Consumer Banking

Carlos Minetti has served as executive vice president, president of consumer banking since February 2014. He was appointed to oversee consumer banking products in 2006 and led cardmember services from 2001-2006. Prior to joining Discover, Carlos worked in card operations and risk management for American Express from 1987 to 2000, most recently as senior vice president. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering from Texas A&M University and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago.

Diane E. Offereins

Executive Vice President, President - Payment Services

Diane E. Offereins was named executive vice president, payment services in 2008 with responsibility for Discover Network, PULSE and Diners Club International. She was executive vice president and chief technology officer from 1998 to 2008. She has overseen the PULSE Network since 2006. From 1993 to 1998, Diane was at MBNA America Bank, most recently as senior executive vice president. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting from Loyola University.

Mike Roemer

Executive Vice President, Chief Risk Officer

Mike Roemer is the chief risk officer. He joined Discover in February of 2021 as chief compliance officer and was subsequently named the role of chief risk officer in July 2021. Mike oversees all aspects of the corporate risk management function. Prior to joining Discover, he served as chief compliance officer at Wells Fargo where he oversaw the transformation of the enterprise compliance function, and Barclays where he held the roles of chief compliance officer and chief internal auditor. Mike has a bachelor of science degree in accounting from St. John’s University and completed the Tuck Executive Program at Dartmouth College.

Keith Toney

Executive Vice President, Chief Data and Analytics Officer

Keith Toney joined the Executive Committee in November 2020 as executive vice president, chief data and analytics officer. He joined Discover in December 2019 and has more than 20 years of information technology experience in financial services and analytics at organizations such as LexisNexis, Ernst & Young, LLP, Connexion Point, LLC, and Hartford Financial Services. Keith has a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in mathematics from Ohio State University.
